Sixth Form students visit AutoWorld in Brussels Principal Meets Gordon Brown, Prime Minister
Janet Cullen, Principal of Lea Valley High School and Sports College was
invited to 10, Downing Street on Monday 11th January 2010 to meet the Prime
Minister and Secretary of State for Education Ed Balls. The reception was to
celebrate the achievements of some of the most improved schools in the
country. One hundred and twenty three head teachers from primary and
secondary schools attended as an opportunity to recognise the enormous
difference that the Head teachers have made to the lives of so many pupils.
Educational standards have improved significantly over the last decade. In
recent years Lea Valley High School was commended as one of those which
has improved the most. Lea Valley High School’s results have been steadily
rising as a result of innovative curriculum planning which enables pupils to
build a portfolio of results. Janet Cullen said, “This was a very proud moment
in my career and has given well deserved recognition to the staff who
