LVHS students champions of Mayor's Award for Public Speaking!

On Tuesday 29th March Lea Valley High School hosted a fantastic evening for the final of the Mayor’s Award Public Speaking.

Students from schools across Enfield who had qualified for the final arrived at Lea Valley and participated in a warm-up session before delivering their prepared speeches to an audience which included parents, respected members of the borough and a panel of expert judges. Across the board, the level of speeches in both the KS3 and the KS4 competitions was excellent, with students tackling topics such as footballers’ wages, divorce and the power of music.

Lea Valley had an incredibly successful evening with Daniel Dyer and Frida Arthur both fighting off stiff competition and being placed first in the KS3 and KS4 competitions respectively. Daniel spoke beautifully about reaching for the stars and achieving his goals whilst Frida delivered an incredibly eloquent account of striving for individuality and not following the crowd. Lea Valley are extremely proud of our two winning public speakers!
